The Story Behind KONLUN

KONLUN — Handmade with Heart, Crafted for the Earth

One summer afternoon, I was walking past a river near my hometown. The water should have been clear, but instead I saw plastic bags caught in the reeds, swaying like strange, lifeless creatures. A bird pecked at one, mistaking it for food. I still remember the sound of its wings beating the water, struggling, until it flew away—barely.

That image stayed with me. I kept thinking: how many animals don’t get away? How many rivers, fields, and oceans carry the weight of what we throw out so carelessly?

I had been working with bags for years—leather, cotton, canvas. But that day, I realized I didn’t want to make “just bags” anymore. I wanted to make something that felt kinder. Something that could carry what we need without harming the world we share.

That’s when KONLUN began to take shape

Our bags are made from eco-friendly cotton and canvas, natural fabrics that last. But the real difference is in the hands that touch them—patchwork sewn slowly, embroidery stitched with patience, or hand-printed with water-based, eco-friendly inks. Each bag is a small protest against throwaway culture. Each one is a reminder that everyday choices matter.

No two KONLUN bags are exactly alike. Some carry simple stitches, others bloom with flowers or quiet colors. They are not perfect, because neither are we—but they are honest, personal, and meant to stay with you through years, not days.

For me, KONLUN is more than a brand. It’s a promise—to live more lightly, to respect the earth, and to bring a little beauty back into ordinary life.

If you’ve ever looked at the world and wished to leave it better than you found it, then perhaps you’ll understand what these bags stand for.

Thank you for being here, and for carrying this story with you. If this story resonates with you, I invite you to see the bags I’ve created in my collection.
